Our Mission Statement

The Body Shop Foundation supports innovative global projects working in the areas of human & civil rights and environmental & animal protection.

We are The Body Shop International Plc's charitable trust funded by annual donations from the company and through various fundraising initiatives.

Our aim is to:

• support organisations at the forefront of social & environmental change
• support groups with little hope of conventional funding
• support projects working to increase public awareness

We do not, however, accept unsolicited applications for funding nor do we:

• sponsor individuals
• fund sporting activities or the arts
• sponsor or support fundraising events, receptions or conferences

Simply put, we promise to make a difference

A brief history

The Body Shop Foundation was started in 1990 as a way of consolidating all the charitable donations made by the company and its extended family.

To date, The Body Shop Foundation has donated over £11 million sterling in grants. On top of this, we regularly give gift-in-kind support to projects and organisations.

The Body Shop Foundation is also proud to be a member of the ECPAT UK coalition as part of our commitment to ending the exploitation of children around the world - please click on the link for further details.
